Five police dogs will compete Saturday with pooches from throughout the Mountain West in the Police Service Dog Competition.
The competition, at Granger High School, 3690 S. 36th West, will feature obedience, obstacles and apprehension.The annual competition, sponsored by the West Valley City Police Service Dog Unit, lets dogs strut their stuff while allowing their handlers to learn different techniques.
Competitors will be vying for gold, silver and bronze medals in each individual events. The team with the highest overall average will take home a trophy and top dog honors.
