The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has been chosen to receive the "National Recognition Medal" by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. The award is being given to the choir because of its "strong evidence in support of patriotism," said Richard W. Miller, president of the organization. The choir has performed at three U.S. presidential inaugurations and the nationwide bicentennial program in 1987. Ten of the choir's more than 100 recordings are devoted to patriotic music.
