Betty Calder, Salt Lake City, has been elected national vice president of the American Legion Auxiliary.

As a member of the largest volunteer women's patriotic service organization, with a membership of nearly 1 million members, Calder received her eligibility through the service of her husband, Bill, a Navy veteran of WWII.She has served the auxiliary for 36 years as officer and chairman in her local, state, and the national organization. She was national chairman of the 1983-84 American Legion Auxiliary National Convention in Salt Lake City.
