Evgeny Davydov and Valeri Zelepuhkin each had a goal and an assist in the first period as the Soviet Central Red Army held off the Boston Bruins 5-4 Saturday.

Davydov circled the net and scored on a backhander at 3:06, then set up Zelepuhkin's goal at 9:57Andrei Khomutov and Alexei Gusarov set up second-period goals by Vyatcheslav Bykov and Valeri Kamensky to put the Soviets ahead 4-0 midway through the second period.
