CENTERVILLE-Irene Argyle Kirkland, age 81, passed away December 25, 1992, at LDS hospital from a stroke.

She was born November 21, 1911, in West Bountiful, Utah to Jess Holroyd and Vida Emery McKean Argyle. She married Claude Douglas Kirkland November 9, 1940, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded hr in death September 24, 1967.

Faithful always, Irene served her Heavenly Father, throughout her life as an active member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed involvement as a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was a life long resident of Davis County.

She loved to work in her flower farden, and her family was the center of her life.

She is survived by her children, Claudia (Jay R.)Mickelsen, Pocatello, ID; ann Samuelsen, Bountiful, UT; Boyd D. Kirkland, (Barbara), Newhall, Calif.; Brent A. Kirkland, (Mary Kay), Garland, UT; Marilyn (Victor M.), Castellano, Centerville, UT; 24 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Leone Taylor, Ontario, Oregon; Emery Argyle, Murray, UT; Joseph Argyle, Bremerton, Wash.; Mabel Purcell, Layton, UT; Ellen Freestone, West Bountiful, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessee and Vida McKean Argyle; son Mark A. Kirkland; granddaughter, Renate Mickelsen, sisters, Ruth Bartholomew, Edna Parker; and brother Elmer Argyle.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 1992, at 1:00 p.m., at Centerville 1st Ward, 160 So., 300 East. Friends may call Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and at the church, Wednesday morning 11:30-12:40 p.m., prior to services. Interment: Centerville Cemetary.
