A Salt Lake girl who accepted a ride from a stranger Monday afternoon was raped in the back of his van, police reported.
The girl, 15, was waiting for a bus near Second South and University Street about 4:20 p.m. when a man stopped his van and asked her if she would like a ride.She accepted, "even though she felt a little uneasy about it," according to a police report.
The girl told police her assailant, who took her back to the bus stop following the attack, told her that he "had been watching her for the past week."
