The 120th anniversary celebration of the Young Women organization is planned for Saturday, Nov. 18.
The anniversary observance will commemorate President Brigham Young's ringing of the family prayer bell to call his daughters together on Nov. 28, 1869. The Young Ladies Retrenchment Society, today called Young Women, was organized at that time.Today, nearly 330,000 young women, ages 12-18, belong to the Young Women.
Bells will be rung throughout the world as young women gather at sunrise for the 120th anniversary. The young women also will hear a recorded message by President Ezra Taft Benson.
