Wasatch Front companies are receiving the bulk of contracts from the $145 million expansion at Hercules Aerospace Bacchus West plant.

And 80 percent of the 400 construction worker was hired locally, said Ruth Novak, Bacchus Works vice president and general manager."We expect the Bacchus West expansion to follow the original project which spent over $16 million for direct craft labor and $19 million for Utah-produced materials," Novak said.

Excavation is complete and foundation work is 90 percent done for the expansion, she said.

The expansion allows the firm to handle increased production of upgraded solid rocket motors for the Titan 4 and graphite epoxy motors for the Delta 2 programs.

Construction is expected to be completed later this year.
