Dr. Craig Cutler examines Fern Ratcliff's eyes Friday, during the Utah Vision Project's "Give-One-Day" Project. Cutler was one of more than 30 Utah optometrists who participated in the project, sponsored by Utah optometrists and the Salvation Army. It was designed to provide free eye care for individuals who can't afford it. Qualifying persons included the "working poor" who can't afford health insurance. The optometrists and their staffs provided services free. Most of the material cost for glasses will also be donated. A lab that makes glasses provided services at a reduced cost. Those who needed glasses were asked to pay $20.
