SCOPE OF ADULT TREATMENT PROGRAM EXPANDED

SHARE SCOPE OF ADULT TREATMENT PROGRAM EXPANDED

In an effort to help more adults find the time for treatment of drug or alcohol dependency, as well as cut the cost of such therapy, the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Adult Dayspring program has become an intensive outpatient center.

Previously, Dayspring offered a four-week inpatient rehabilitation program. David Holindrake, program coordinator for the Dayspring unit, said the new orientation will allow people to seek help without disrupting their family and work situations.Individuals seeking help through Dayspring's new outpatient program will visit the hospital four evenings a week for eight weeks. The education and counseling sessions will be three hours long.

While most adult patients can recover from a drug or alcohol problem through an outpatient program, some individuals require the close monitoring and services that only extended hospitalization can provide. Such treatment will continue to be offered through the Dayspring facility located at LDS Hospital.

UVRMC will still offer an inpatient adolescent program.
