Mother Teresa is about to share a charity space with the San Francisco Fire Department. Firefighters this week reluctantly agreed to allow her some space in an old brick firehouse as a soup kitchen to feed the homeless. Firefighter Robert Barbara said a meek attempt to talk the 78-year-old Roman Catholic nun into finding another site was easily brushed aside by the frail woman and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Barbara said the space was already overcrowded with toys gathered for the poor. Mother Teresa was given a $1-a-year lease on the space by Mayor Art Agnos. Asked if there would be a problem sharing the valuable site, she replied, "Oh, no. In works of love, there will be no difficulty."
