The Coast Guard battled fierce winds and 20-foot waves in the North Atlantic Thursday to rescue two fishing boats stranded more than 140 miles off the Massachusetts coast.

Coast Guard cutters rushed out to the fishing vessels, Orion and Nautilus, both of which lost engine power during a storm off Cape Cod Tuesday. Officials reported no injuries among the total of 15 crew members on the two boats.
