To whom it may concern: Your lost lizard has been found.
Saturday afternoon a "startled" Provo resident found your 3-foot lizard lounging around her garage at 400 S. 530 West. She called the Provo Police Department for help and dispatcher Sande Krieger, who answered the call, knew all about your lizard - three weeks ago she took a call from you when you lost it.Which might sound like a happy ending . . . except your name has been misplaced and the police department can't remember who you are.
Lea Griffith, an animal-control officer, says your lizard "seems fine," despite having roamed around the streets of Provo for days. No doubt there are a few dogs and cats who've had the heck scared out of them over the past several weeks - not to mention kids who told their parents they saw a huge lizard, only to be told to quit exaggerating.
Griffith says your lizard is staying at the animal shelter. She hopes you'll come claim it soon, however, because the animal-control people aren't sure what they should feed it.
"I don't know if they are going to give it insects, fruit or what," Griffith said.
