There has been a changing of the guard on the Forest Service's Sanpete Ranger District.

Tom Shore, the supervisory range conservationist on the Ruby Mountain District of the Humboldt National Forest, which has its headquarters in Wells, Nev., has been transferred to the Manti-LaSal National Forest where he will serve as ranger of the Sanpete District.Shore, a native of Salt Lake City, received a bachelor's degree in forest range management from Utah State University in 1974. He's since been employed by the U.S. Forest Service in a variety of assignments on the Humboldt, Targhee, Cibola, Carson, Sawtooth and Payette national forests.

Shore replaces Ranger Ben Black, who has been transferred to the Beaver Ranger District on the Fishlake National Forest.
