STUDENT POSTERS TO AID SPRINGVILLE LIBRARY

SHARE STUDENT POSTERS TO AID SPRINGVILLE LIBRARY

The Friends of Springville Public Library is inviting students to help recruit new members and help publicize upcoming library events.

The group is holding a poster contest for middle school children in the Springville and Mapleton area this month. Prizes will be awarded to students in age categories, and participation awards will also be given.Organizers say the children can choose between two themes for their posters: invitations for people to join Friends of the Springville Public Library, or advertising the upcoming event "A Night With Author Dean Hughes."

The event will be held at the Springville City Offices, 50 S. Main, Wednesday, Nov. 1. Hughes is mostly known for his children's books (like the "Nutty" series), which he will discuss, in addition to presenting a humorous slide show.

Posters for the contest should be no larger than 22-by-14 inches, and can be in any medium. The deadline for the contest is Friday, Oct. 20.
