Some local junior high school students will have the opportunity to parlez vous francais and habla espanol and speak the queen's English next summer.
Springville Junior High School teacher Marilyn Harding will be taking the students on what could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience - a trip to England, Spain and France as part of an educational program to study the European continent beginning July 10, 1990.The geography teacher will be leading the students and some selected parents as a teacher-group leader and sharing with them the learning and fun of traveling abroad, she said.
The group will visit London, Paris and Madrid and will tour Windsor Castle, Alcazar, the Alhambra, St. Michel, Versailles, London's Hard Rock Cafe and many other scenic locations, she said.
Harding is arranging the program in conjunction with the American Council for International Studies. The Boston, Massachusetts-based group helps students throughout the U.S. enjoy educational programs like the planned European excursion, Harding said.
The group still has openings, though an informational parent/student meeting was held last month. Interested students and parents should contact Harding at the school or at home, 489-7022, after 4 p.m.
