Gordon Thomson has cashed in on his self-proclaimed love of gardening in a big way - 755 pounds big. Thomson, a retired marketing consultant for the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, dragged a whopping 755-pounder to Monday's annual World Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Collins, N.Y., and walked away with the $3,000 top prize for his record-setting gourd. Not only did Thomson, of Hemmingford, Quebec, Canada, break the old world mark for a giant pumpkin of 671 pounds set in 1986 by Robert Gancarz of Wrightstown, N.J., he smashed it. "I like to grow things." Thomson said. "I don't even mind weeds at all. They have a place, too."
