The brother of Chicago Cubs first baseman Mark Grace was arrested Wednesday and charged with running a bookmaking operation, authorities said.

Police said Mike Grace, 28, was arrested along with seven other people when Fayetteville police raided his apartment. Officers seized gambling records, computer equipment and about $4,000.Investigators said the betting operation has been under way for at least a year.

Mike Grace enrolled this fall as a student at the University of Arkansas, but it could not be ascertained if he was still attending classes.

Mark Grace gave a stellar performance in the Cubs' five-game loss to the San Francisco Giants in the National League playoffs. He went 11-for-17 with one home run and eight RBIs.
