Products of industry from Utah's rural counties, ranging from giant Thiokol Corp. to small one- and two-person cottage industries, will be displayed at the first Rural Utah Expo Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 and 14 at Southern Utah State College.
More than 50 companies will display their products at the Expo, which is being held in conjunction with the second Utah Summit on Rural Economic Development. Displays are free to the public and will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the large gymnasium in the SUSC Physical Education Building.Some Expo participants include Visors by Lynn, a Parowan-based producer of headwear and ski accessories; Olsen Brothers, sheep camp producers from Mt. Pleasant; Goer West Manufacturing in Cedar City; Electronic Cottage, a Green River information management company, and Tritek Corporation, a St. George producer of soft goods for commercial and government needs.
"These companies are representative of companies throughout rural Utah," said Harold Hiskey, event coordinator.
