Singer David Crosby of Crosby, Stills and Nash will speak Oct. 19 at Utah State University as part of the Associated Students' Convocation Lecture Series.
Crosby recently embarked on a nationwide lecture tour to discuss the evils of drug addiction. Crosby recently published his autobiography, "Long Time Gone," in which he details his harrowing descent into - and eventual recovery from - drug addiction. He speaks at 12:30 p.m. in the Chase Fine Arts Center Kent Concert Hall. The public is invited to the free lecture.
In the last few months, Crosby recorded a new album ("American Dream) with long-time musical mates Graham Nash, Stephen Sills and Neil Young. He also recorded his first solo album ("Oh Yes I Can") since 1971.
"I've been trying to finish a solo album for years," Crosby says. "I was working on one during the latter stages of my addiction, but I could not finish it; I just couldn't get myself together to do it."
