The state prosecutor warned the Supreme Court Friday that the return of the late Ferdinand Marcos's remains would provide the "triggering mechanism" for mass actions aimed at ousting President Corazon Aquino.

In a 55-page pleading to the Supreme Court, Solicitor General Francisco Chavez said Marcos's corpse should be buried in Hawaii, where he died at the age of 72 on Sept. 28, until an appropriate time in the future.Aquino has banned the burial of Marcos in the Philippines, citing security reasons. But supporters of Marcos on Oct. 2 asked the Supreme Court to lift the ban.
