A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for stabbing a teenager during a fight over a dime bottle deposit.

Roberto Pena, convicted in August of first-degree assault, must serve a minimum of five years without parole under the sentence issued Tuesday by Deschutes County Circuit Judge Michael Sullivan.Police charged Pena with stabbing an 18-year-old man three times during a drunken argument at a convenience store. Officers said the two got into a fight over who would get the 10-cent deposit for two empty soda pop cans. Both men were intoxicated, police said.
