SHARE CHILDREN DONATE FATHER’S PORTRAIT TO RICK’S COLLEGE

A painting of the late Joseph Fielding Smith, 10th president of the Church, now hangs in the building named after him on Ricks College campus.

Four of President Smith's six surviving children recently donated the painting to the college. Julina Smith Hart, Amelia Smith McConkie, Emily Smith Myers and Douglas Smith gave the portrait to school officials Sept. 19.Elder L. Tom Perry of the Council of the Twelve unveiled the painting.

The 42-by-48-inch painting hangs in the Joseph Fielding Smith building, which houses the departments of religion, English, history, foreign languages and business. The building was constructed in 1967 and also has more than 70 faculty offices.
