SHARE FREE SEMINARS OFFER EDUCATION ON DIVORCE AND ITS IMPACT ON PARENTS AND CHILDREN

In 1988, 4,695 divorces, annulments or separations were filed in Salt Lake County, which means that 13 marriages reached a crisis stage every day last year. Utah's divorce rate is higher than the national rate.

To help ease some of the confusion, Utah Children is offering divorce education seminars for parents. Seminars are free and include free child care. Two segments of each seminar explore issues ranging from basic legal procedures such as filing for divorce to the emotional impact of divorce and its effects on parents and children. The third segment of each seminar covers resources available to parents to improve their financial resources. The seminars are offered in October and November throughout central Utah. The next seminar will be held at Wasatch Canyon Hospital, 5770 S. 1500 West, Saturday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information or to preregister, call Utah Children, 521-1494.
