Discussion about wilderness issues will highlight the annual meeting of the Sevier County Farm Bureau Tuesday, Oct. 17, in Salina.
Garfield County Commissioner Louis Liston, who has opposed many wilderness issues and actions of a southern Utah consortium of environmental groups, will keynote the banquet at 7 p.m. in the Salina LDS Second-Third Ward, 87 S. 100 East. The consortium has fought Garfield County on nearly every issue of the Burr Trail project, filing several lawsuits that have cost the county hundreds of thousands of dollars in court and attorney fees.
Policies that were developed at a farm bureau meeting earlier this month will be discussed during the meeting. Sevier County talent-find contestants will also be featured.
Farm bureau members and prospective members are invited to attend. Tickets are available from board members Chad Outzen, Garth Ogden, Gary Cowley, Ivan Cowley, Carl Warnock and Stuart Johnson.
