University of Florida starting quarterback Kyle Morris and backup quarterback Shane Matthews were declared ineligible for the rest of the season Monday night for betting on football games.

Two other players also were suspended for the year for undisclosed NCAA violations.Morris, of Clinton, Miss., and Matthews, of Pascagoula, Miss., admitted to placing bets on professional and college football games between late August and Oct. 7, a violation of NCAA regulations, said university athletic director Bill Arnsparger.

Neither wagered on Gator games, betting between $25 and $100 of their own money on professional and other college games.
