Fee collections at Canyonlands National Park have ended for the year, says Harvey Wickware, park superintendent in Moab.

Entrance fees have been charged at the Needles and Island in the Sky visitor centers except for two days. Fees were suspended on Aug. 25 to celebrate National Parks Day and Sept. 9, on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Canyonlands.Visitors will be digging into their pocketbooks once again in March 1990 when the busy season starts.

"At that time it is also expected that the recreation use fee for camping in the Needles (District) at Squaw Flat Campground will be reinstated, since the park staff expects to have water available for campers," Wickware said.
