SHARE DEVELOPMENT, MODERNIZATION OF MORMONISM WILL BE DISCUSSED BY PANEL WEDNESDAY AT Y.

A panel discussion entitled "Mormonism as Case Study: The Growth of New Religious Movements" is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in 375 Wilkinson Center, Brigham Young University.

Rodney Stark, professor of sociology at the University of Washington, will discuss "Modernization and Mormon Growth: The Secularization Theories Revisited."Jan Shipps, author of "Mormonism: The Story of a New Religious Tradition" and professor of religious studies and history at Indiana University and at Purdue University at Indianapolis, will offer "Making Saints: In the Early Days and in the Latter Days."

Eileen Baker, professor of sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Darwin L. Thomas, professor of sociology at BYU, will respond.
