Brighton and Skyline, two Region 2 rivals, were the top teams at the 4A soccer tournament as each school came through with 6-0 victories Thursday at Westminster College.
The Bengals and Eagles advanced to the semifinals of the first-ever sanctioned girls state soccer tournament to play opponents that also recorded shutout victories.The Bengals, who defeated Hillcrest were to face Viewmont, a 5-0 winner over Orem. The Eagles, who beat West Jordan, were to play Alta, which defeated Taylorsville 3-0. The winners of Friday's games will meet Saturday at noon for the title.

The Bengals had little trouble with their longtime rivals as they scored three goals in each half.
Joanna Barney scored three goals and Rachel Jensen added a pair of goals to lead the Bengals, who are ranked 10th in the nation in the latest USA Today girls soccer poll. Camille Lubeck got the final goal off a free kick and also added a pair of assists.
Skyline 6, West Jordan 0
The Eagles broke away from the pesky Jaguars, the fourth-place team from Region 3, with four second-half goals.
After taking a 2-0 lead on goals by Annie Beddoes and Billi Bybee, the Eagles wasted little time in the second half as Erica Wight fired in a shot from 25 yards out just two minutes into the half. Bybee added another goal a few minutes later and rounded out the scoring after Wight scored again.
Alta 3, Taylorsville 0
Jill Hughes scored three second-half goals to lead the Hawks past the Region 3 champion Warriors.
Tonya Jones, Alta's top scorer on the year, assisted on two goals and goalie Angie Jolley kept the Warriors out of the net.
Viewmont 5, Orem 0
Annie Garlock and Allison Austin scored two goals apiece and Heidi Gloshien added another for the Region 1 champion Vikings.
The Vikings scored in the first two minutes of the game and built up a 4-0 halftime lead. Melissa Eggett was the Viking goaltender.
