Actress Lisa Bonet is asking The National Enquirer to turn over the negative of a photo of her newborn baby so that she can use it in her $5 million suit against a drugstore chain. Bonet claims that someone at an Osco Drug store took the negative out of a roll of film she left for developing and then sold it to the Enquirer, which published the photograph of Bonet's daughter, Zoe, who was 3 weeks old at the time, in January. The trial was scheduled to start Tuesday in Los Angeles, but was delayed when Bonet's lawyers made their request for the negative from the Enquirer. The tabloid is not a defendant in the lawsuit, but the question of how it comes up with photographs of celebrities likely will be debated during the trial.
