A Roy man was convicted Friday of theft by receiving for pocketing some of the $400,000 that his wife embezzled from a fast food management corporation.
Lee Garcia, 40, could be sentenced to serve from one to 15 years in prison. Second District Judge Stanton Taylor set sentencing for Nov. 13.The three-woman five-man jury took about two hours to convict Garcia of the second degree felony.
Earlier in the week, Taylor declared a mistrial after one of the jurors spoke up and said he was prejudiced against Hispanics. A new jury was then selected.
Garcia's wife, Wendy Covington Garcia, was also sentenced to serve from one to 15 years in prison after she entered a guilty plea to theft last May.
The former bookkeeper admitted to stealing the money from K&G Management Service Corp.
