SHARE GENEVA FANS GIVE $60,301 TO RELIEF EFFORT.

Brigham Young University football fans donated more than $40,000 to aid victims of last week's earthquake in the San Francisco/Santa Cruz areas.

In addition, Geneva Steel donated $20,000 to the collection, bringing the day's total to $60,301.The effort was a joint project of the United Way of Utah County, American Red Cross Central Utah Chapter and the Brigham Young University athletic department.

United Way volunteers from local businesses helped make the day a success. Sears Telecatalog center sent more than 45 volunteers, who with Red Cross volunteers, collected donations from fans as they arrived at Saturday's homecoming game.

Tellers from Zions and First Security banks assisted throughout the game tallying the day's donations.
