If Aurora residents don't clean up their act at the city dump and comply with policies and regulations, they may lose the facility.
The disposal area is on Bureau of Land Management-administered federal land west of the community.Citizens were previously warned, but the City Council was told that people continue to violate city ordinances and regulations. The council wants citizens to deposit debris only in designated areas and avoid burning at the dump or on land adjacent to it.
It was noted that the city is responsible to maintain the facility in accordance with regulations and policies of the State Health Department as well as the BLM and to comply with regulations outlined in the federal Clean Air Act.
