Juab County Commissioners voted Monday to stay with the Utah Local Governments Insurance Trust, Salt Lake City, which gave a bid of $47,582.

"We are members of the Utah Local Governments Trust," said Don Eyre Jr., Juab County attorney. "It is managed and owned by local governments."Though the commission has been reviewing plans and met with Darrell Childs and Loretta Childs, representing Olympus Insurance, they voted unanimously to stay with the trust.

Changing insurance companies would have resulted in an additional expense of more than $30,000 for the first year. The trust charges a $20,400 changeover fee, said Eyre.

In addition, the trust dropped the price originally bid by $10,000.

"We don't really have the money to pay for the costs (of the changeover)," said Commissioner Jim Garrett.
