The second winter storm of the season, expected mainly in the northern half of the state Friday night and Saturday, should leave a couple of inches of new snow on benches and 4 to 8 inches in the mountains.
William J. Alder, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service, said some of the storm will spill over into Sunday.Most trick-or-treaters shouldn't encounter snow on Halloween Tuesday. But partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures are expected that evening.
A high of 54 degrees was forecast for Friday, in the mid-30s Friday night and upper 40s on Saturday and Sunday in northern Utah.
