The U.S. mint plans to produce about 33 percent more coins in fiscal 1990 than in fiscal 1988, according to American Metal Market. The Treasury Department's projection for the mint envisions producing 19.5 billion coins for domestic circulation, up sharply from the 18 billion coins during the fiscal year ending Sept. 30.
