The board of governors of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting nominations for the annual Athena Businesswoman of the Year Award.
Fred S. Ball, chamber president and chief executive officer, said the purpose of the Athena Award is to recognize women successful in their career and active in community service. "It also is intended to provide visibility, recognition and awareness by more companies of the accomplishments of women," Ball said.Nominees for the Athena Award should demonstrate leadership in their unselfish assistance on their behalf, provide valuable service to community and be an active chamber member.
Nominations are due Nov. 17 in the chamber office and the winner will be announced Jan. 25, 1990, during a luncheon meeting of the chamber's Women's Professional Development Committee.
