A Jan. 22 trial date has been set for a man accused of swindling more than $180,000 from investors.

Robert G. Johnson, 41, South Ogden, appeared Friday before 2nd District Judge Ronald O. Hyde to have a trial date set. Johnson is charged with 18 felony counts of fraud.His business partner and co-defendant, Blake Adams, 36, Gilbert, Ariz., entered guilty pleas to three felony fraud charges last August. He was sentenced to serve 30 days in the Weber County Jail and ordered to repay the $181,000.

Both men operated the Johnson-Adams Corp., collecting money from investors in 1984 with promises of a 200 percent return within two months. Investors allege they never saw their money again.
