A Cambodian refugee was arrested this week in Salt Lake County on San Francisco charges that accuse him of murdering a man the night of the Bay area's big earthquake.

The murder could have been over a flashlight, an item in demand the night of Oct. 17.Suon Ung, 36, was arrested Wednesday by Salt Lake Police Detective Mike Welch at a Sandy home that is the residence of a relative of Ung. Police recovered a .22-caliber handgun during the arrest.

San Francisco Police Detective Jeff Brosch said Ung is charged with shooting Bun Lo, 22, several times in the head about 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 in the lobby of an apartment complex in the Tenderloin area.
