Toni Neslen, a 32-year-old single mother and president of the University Honor Society, has been crowned homecoming queen for this weekend's activities at the University of Idaho.
Neslen was named queen Thursday night after being nominated by the Family Housing Unit at the Moscow school, where she lives with her 9-year-old son Aaron.The Family Housing Unit includes the apartment complexes for married students and students with children. Neslen has been in charge of building the Family Housing float for Saturday's homecoming parade before the football game between the Idaho Vandals and the University of Nevada-Reno.
"I'm doing this to be part of the school, not to go against it," Neslen said, adding that she plans to be escorted by her father during halftime ceremonies at the homecoming game.
