Blacks and Hispanics were about twice as likely to be crime victims as whites last year, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

While whites were robbed at the rate of 4.7 per 1,000 people during 1988, the rate for blacks was 9.4 and for Hispanics, 10.1, said the bureau's National Crime Survey released Sunday.Males, young people, inner-city residents and renters also were more likely to have been victims last year.
