Classes Monday at the University of Portland were canceled following the death of President Father Thomas C. Oddo, who was killed Sunday in a traffic accident, a school official said.

Oddo, 45, was heading west behind a pickup truck pulling a trailer when the trailer came loose and struck Oddo's car, said Francesca Clifford, a UP spokeswoman.Oddo died instantly, according to medical examiners.
