No storm is expected until Thursday, but the mercury will begin dropping about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Temperature will drop to the 30s and near freezing by 9 or 9:30 p.m.Michael Lewis, meteorologist intern at the Salt Lake office of the National Weather Service, suggests that parents bundle up youngsters who venture out on Halloween.
"If kids go out in store-bought costumes, make sure they have something on underneath - at least a jacket. Since most heat is lost through the head, it might be wise to encourage children to wear a hat," Lewis said.
