Gentner Electronics Corp., a Salt Lake-based company that designs and manufactures innovative audio electronic products, reported an increase in revenues and a decline in earnings for the quarter ending Sept. 30.
William V. Trowbridge, chief operating officer, said revenue in the quarter increased 23 percent to $1.25 million from $1.02 million in the same quarter a year ago, but the company lost $17,780 compared to net income of $64,401 in the same period a year ago.Trowbridge said the financial results in the first quarter are in line with projections because of accelerated product development and marketing efforts to bring several major new products to the market. The majority of these new products won't be available until the third or fourth quarter of the company's fiscal year.
When the new products are introduced, company officials expect gains in revenue and earnings for the entire fiscal year.
