Corrections officials Tuesday said all but one inmate at the riot-torn state prison here had been accounted for and that four others listed earlier as missing had been overlooked.

Authorities searched the fire-ravaged prison and double-checked rec-ords Tuesday for the inmate.Meanwhile, hundreds of inmates who slept outdoors for three days were returned to cells at the prison near Harrisburg, where 123 people were injured and half the buildings gutted or damaged by fires set Wednesday and Thursday.

Disturbances at Camp Hill and three other Pennsylvania prisons have injured nearly 200 inmates and prison staff during the past week and a half.

In Illinois on Monday, an inmate with a homemade knife held four medical workers hostage for five hours, demanding to be moved to another state. He surrendered without harming anyone after talking to a TV news crew.

Authorities said Monday that five inmates were unaccounted for, but they announced this morning that a more accurate count taken after the men returned to their cells reduced that number to one.

"We're not even sure yet that it's a person," said Corrections Department spokesman Kenneth Robinson. "It may be a paperwork problem."

Robinson said officials would continue checking the count of inmates at the prison, transferred to other prisons or taken to hospitals.

He said a State Police arson squad would pick through the rubble of prison buildings until the discrepancy is resolved.
