SHARE KENNECOTT GIVES BUILDING

Kennecott Tuesday donated a 26,000-square-foot, two-story office building on 3.45 acres of land to Catholic Community Services, a United Way agency.

The building, at 2300 W. 1700 South, was originally constructed in 1965 to house Kennecott Minerals Exploration, Research and Development. It later was the headquarters for the Utah Copper Division.The building was recently appraised for $800,000, following $150,000 in improvements that included repair to mechanical systems, painting, carpeting, tile work and reasphalting the parking lot.
