The 15th annual tax symposium sponsored by the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants will be held Thursday and Friday, Nov. 2-3, in the Salt Lake Hilton Hotel.
Ray H. Wood, tax director for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be the keynote speaker Thursday. He is a member of the Governor's Blue Ribbon Tax Recodification Commission and will talk about the commission's recommendations to the Legislature.On Friday, Hal Daub, former Nebraska congressman, will be the keynote speaker. He was one of the principal authors of the 1986 Tax Reform Act and was responsible for several provisions in the 1988 tax legislation.
Other speakers will be James C. Clark, minority tax counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee; Harold Bach, president of Bach & Associates Ltd., Minneapolis, Minn.; and several locals CPAs and attorneys specializing in taxation.
