Emergency workers assist a man rescued from a fishing boat that struck a gas pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday. The resulting explosion and spectacular fireball killed two crew members, and nine others are missing. At least three of the 14-member crew were injured when the metal-hulled boat hit the underwater pipeline just before dark off Port Arthur, Texas. On Wednesday rescuers in boats and helicopters searched the gulf for the nine missing crew members. Coast Guard Capt. Michael Collan said the Louisiana-based boat was equipped with a fishing net, but it was not known if the net snagged on the pipeline and broke it.
