SHARE AUTRY PUTS WESTERN GEAR ON AUCTION BLOCK

Singing cowboy Gene Autry has put part of his personal collection of Western paraphernalia on the block to benefit the year-old Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum.

The auction house Butterfield & Butterfield has scheduled November bidding on items such as two single-action revolvers used in Autry's pictures, a group of silver saddles designed for shows in Madison Square Garden and matching outfits used in his "Square Dancing on Horseback" routine.Not on the block: Autry's most prized possession, the California Angels baseball team.
