SHARE 6 UTAHNS RECEIVE FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS

WASHINGTON

Six Utahns have received prestigious Fulbright scholarships to study, teach or conduct research abroad, Sen. Jake Garn, R-Utah, announced.

They are Dilworth B. Parkinson, Provo; Stephen Tanner, David Wright and Clark J. Gubler, all of Orem; Mark S. LeTourneau, Ogden; and Satyan S. Moorty, Cedar City.The Fulbright Program was established by Congress through Sen. J. William Fulbright in 1946 to increase mutual understanding among nations and increase friendly, sympathetic and peaceful relations.

Scholars are selected on the basis of academic and professional excellence and their ability and willingness to share ideas and experiences with others.
